<p>In a method of accessing application data for a PC card cellular modem (7), a data link is initially established between a host computer (1) and the modem. Upon powering-up the host PC (1), application data is automatically transferred from a memory location (13) of the cellular modem (7) to a memory location (3) of the host PC, whereupon the application data is configured to provide the hardware drivers and the application program for controlling the modem. Accordingly, no separate disk or CD-ROM is required to transfer the application data to the host PC (1).</p> |
