USER INTERFACE FOR PERSONALIZED ACCESS TO INTERNET-ENABLED TELEVISION

A personalized user interface (UI) to an Internet-enabled TV may include personalized category (2002) and content (2004) areas and a personal monitoring (2006) area. In accordance with an embodiment, the areas of the personalized UI may be arranged in a L-shaped configuration, and the features within the areas may be readily navigated using arrow buttons on a remote control. For example, up and down arrows may be used to navigate among the features in the personal monitoring area (2006), while the left and right arrows may be used to navigate among the categories in the personalized category area (2002).
