PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recover a high viscosity oil exclusively by separating the floating high viscosity oil containing solids by simple structure. SOLUTION: The apparatus 1 for recovering the high viscosity oil by separating a raw liquid 2 in which the oil is mixed as a mixture of the oil and water by the difference in specific gravity has a separation tank 4 having a recovery port 3 for the raw liquid, a drainage tank 5 connected with the separation tank 4, and a pump 6 for discharging the separated water overflowing from the upper part of the drainage tank. A recovery means 7 for recovering the high viscosity oil is fitted to the separation tank.
