<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system about the upright piano which makes it easy to sound the next key, and makes it possible to touch again, after the previous touch, ever when the previous key has not returned to the original position about 10 mm). SOLUTION: This system is an upright piano action which has a hammer, bat, catcher, back check, jack, repetition lever, and a spring. The hammer strikes vertically pitched strings from side. The bat and the catcher is set at the side of the center of the rotation of the hammer. The back check catches the catcher when it rotates and returns in the opposite direction after it strikes the strings. The jack is attached to an wippen which rotates in the direction of striking when it strikes the strings, and this jack conveys the shock to the bat, and escapes from the original point. The repetition lever is attached to the wippen so that it can rotate freely against the bat, and touches at the lower side of the bat when the hammer stops. The spring is a helping device, set at the back check wire, and, in opening of the hammer stop state, this spring gives the repetition lever the influence which helps the bat to move in the direction of the strings.</p> |
