SOLUTION: The target shaft horsepower Pp of a power unit is obtained by using the opening of an accelerator (APS signal) and the revolution speed of wheels Nw as input conditions, and it is corrected by charging and discharging outputs Pb for maintaining the battery charging rate in the state of a target value. The target primary revolution speed Np is map-retrieved (map 56) based on the corrected target shaft horsepower Ppa, and as the engine revolution speed Ne changes with the operation of the non-stage transmission, a target engine output Pe is also map-retrieved (map 58) from the revolution speed Ne. The engine output is controlled based on this target engine output Pe, and the surplus or shortage (deviation Ep) for the target shaft horsepower Pp is used to control the output of an electric motor.
