PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the burnout of an optical element. SOLUTION: In the laser oscillator, a laser beam 13a which is output from a laser resonator 13 is output via a reflector 14. A metal body 18 is arranged on the rear side of the reflector 14. The temperature of the metal body 18 is sensed by a temperature sensing means 20, and the output of the laser resonator 13 is stopped when the sensed temperature exceeds a prescribed value.
