PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader that transfers a read image to an image processing unit after subjecting the image to a prescribed editing and that can set read conditions. SOLUTION: The image reader can make setting operations (113, 114) for image read and/or editing conditions before reading an image (115) after receiving an image read request from an external information processing unit (100).
