Photographic material comprising at least one photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer on a support, in which the silver halide crystals comprise at least 60 mole% silver bromide (AgBr) and are at least 50% tabular (with respect to projected surface area) with an aspect ratio of at least 3, includes at least one metal (I) selected from indium, yttrium, lanthanum and lanthanides in an amount of 10<-7> to 10<-3> moles per mole of silver halide.
