The connector has two connector parts (12,14) provided with a ferrule (16) and electro-optic module (20) respectively. When the two parts are connected, the ferrule lies opposite the input or output of the electro-optic module. The electro-optic module has a flexible base body (28) which is compressed and/or deformed to produce a spring force so that its end comprising the input/output is loaded in an end position in which the input/output of the ferrule lies opposite.
