Explosion proof motor assembly

A motor arrangement has an electronically commutated electric motor (10) in an explosion-proof design that has a permanent magnet rotor (14) and a stator. On the stator of the electric motor and separated from the permanent magnet rotor by an air gap is provided at least one galvo-magnetic rotor position sensor for the detection of a magnetic field of the rotor. Its output signal serves for the control of the commutation electronics (34). The current supply of the galvo-magnetic rotor position sensor takes place from an AC or three-phase network (40) by the intermediate circuit of an isolating transformer (52). The output signal of the galvo-magnetic sensor is passed via an optic coupler to the commutation electronics.
