PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject medium capable of further reducing the burden on farmers. SOLUTION: This raising seedling medium 10 is such one as to be provided with a crushed chaff layer 14 constituted of e.g. crushed chaff groups 12, wherein plural seeds 16 are previously buried at given intervals at a given depth of the crushed chaff layer 14; thus each farmer needs neither sowing work nor soil-covering work, and consequently, the burden to the farmer can further be decreased so much.
