PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a bleaching composition having high safety and capable of exhibiting excellent bleaching effects on the skin. SOLUTION: This bleaching composition is characterized as comprising an extract from Betula platyphylla Sukatchev var. japonica and a reducing substance. The bleaching composition is characterized as comprising the extract from the Betula platyphylla Sukatchev var. japonica, the reducing substance and a tyrosinase inhibitor. The food comprises the above bleaching composition and the cosmetic comprises the bleaching composition.
