PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color image recorder by which the picture quality of the entire output image can be improved by enhancing the resolution of only black-and-white image data without increasing the data amount of RGB color image data and the picture quality can be improved by suppressing a color deviation by remarkably improving the sharpness of color characters or the like while keeping a low price. SOLUTION: Concerning the color image recorder having a printer engine part 30 for printing video data and a printer controller part for outputting the video data provided from color image data to the printer engine part, the printer controller part parallel inputs the color image data and the black-and- white image data of the resolution higher than that of the color image data, generates K image data on the basis of the inputted black-and-white image data and generates YMC image data on the basis of the inputted color image information.
