PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcasting signal recorder and a digital broadcasting signal recorder-reproducer which discriminate the start of a program or switching of programs and can automatically start recording with the start of the program in the digital broadcasting. SOLUTION: In the digital broadcasting, a TS packet with which the captions are transmitted by means of the data contained in a multiple stream is detected and detection of this caption packet is judged as the start of a program or switching of programs. When the caption packet is first detected, a recording means starts recording of the program from a recording pause state.
