Sodium hydroxylamine disulphonate HON (SO3Na)2 is prepared by the reaction in aqueous solution between SO2, NaNO2 and NaHSO3 (or Na2S2O5).ALSO:O-Alkyhydroxylamines in which the alkyl group contains 1-4 carbon atoms are prepared by reacting NaNO2, SO2 and NaHSO3 (or Na2S2O5) in aqueous solution, to form sodium hydroxylamine disulponate, alkylating the latter without isolation, and hydrolysing off the sulphonate groups. Examples prepare the methyl, ethyl and n-butyl hydroxylamines, which are purified by way of their hydrochlorides. |
