<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium which is provided with a very thin protective film and whose reliability and wear resistance are enhanced. SOLUTION: In the objective magnetic recording medium obtained by forming at least a magnetic film and a protective film on a nonmagnetic substrate of a magnetic disk and applying a liquid lubricant having a perfluoro-polyether structure on the surface of the protective film, the average roughness Ra of the surface of the protective film is <=0.8 nm, the protective film is a diamond- like carbon film, the thickness of the protective film is in the range of 1.5-4.5 nm and a lubricative film on the protective film contains a lubricant component having a structure of formula (1) (where p=5-36, q=4-30 and x=1-5).</p> |
