PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability of a turbine casing and shaft expansion difference detecting device of a turbine. SOLUTION: This turbine casing and shaft expansion difference detecting device is provided with a first and second probe sensors 3, 4 for detecting each expansion of a rotating shaft 1 and a turbine easing 2 of the turbine, a differential amplifier 7 for amplifying a difference in detected output between the respective probe sensors 3, 4, a differential signal A-D converter 21 for converting the output of the differential amplifier 7 to a digital signal, a first and second A-D converters 22, 23 for converting the detected output of each probe sensor 3, 4 to a digital signal, and a microcomputer 27 for confirming for abnormality of the respective digital signals of the differential signal A-D converter 21 and the first and second A-D converters 22, 23 according to the program, and obtaining an expansion difference between the rotating shaft 1 and the turbine casing 2 according to the digital signal having no abnormality among the digital signals. Thus, the digital signal having no abnormality is selected by program processing, whereby a select switch for selecting a digital signal is not needed so as to improve reliability.
