<p>A method for carrying out spot welding by means of a so-called welding rod which is carried by an industrial robot comprises the following steps: two welding electrodes (7, 9) which are included in the welding rod are moved each from their starting position to a welding position substantially in contact with a workpiece, the welding electrodes (7, 9) being applied against the workpiece with a predetermined force in the welding position, the welding operation being completed and the welding electrodes (7, 9) being removed from the workpiece. One of the electrodes (9) is moved to the welding position under the action of at least one motive device which is included in the robot.</p> |
