Phenyloxazole compounds of the general formula (1) or salts thereof, which can be synthesized with industrial advantage and are useful as fungicides for agricultural and horticultural use exhibiting excellent fungicidal effects not only on pathogenic fungi sensitive to fungicides of the prior art but also on those resistant thereto wherein X is halogeno, nitro, cyano, C1-6 alkyl, or the like; Y is halogeno, cyano, nitro, C1-12 alkyl, or the like; Z is O, S, SO, SO2, or N-R2; R1 is hydrogen, C1-6 alkyl, C3-7 cycloalkyl, or the like; R2 is hydrogen or C1-6 alkyl, or R2 together with N-R1 may form a ring; m is an integer of 0 to 2; and n is an integer of 0 to 3. |
