Doppler technique has an object (100) moving parallel to the ground (33) and carrying transmit and receive antennas (21,22) of Doppler radar (1). The signals returned within the swept zone are identified at short intervals. Theoretical Doppler function with time and height is found, and a signal, corresponding to the same object, is selected from the identified Doppler and marked on each signal. The position of the signal gives the speed sought. An Independent claim is also included for the device used in this method.
