PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily, surely obtaining in a short period the genus Eucalyptus useful as a pulp. SOLUTION: The chromosome of the tissue of a diploid plant of the genus Eucalyptus is doubled and the obtained tissue is cultured to generate a tissue having doubled chromosome. A plant body is regenerated from the tissue to obtain a tetraploid eucalyptus having excellent growing and rooting capability.
