PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head part protective air bag device capable of covering an inflator by securing cushion performance without increasing the number of part items even if the inflator is arranged in a roof side rail part. SOLUTION: This head part protective air bag device M1 is constituted by arranging an assist grip 11 and an air bag 23 covered with an air bag cover 15 and housed by being folded up on the cabin inside 1. The air bag 23 unfolds and inflates by push-opening a door part 21 of the covering air bag cover 15 at inflow time of inflating gas from the inflator 31 fixed to a body 1. The inflator 31 is arranged in a position being the car outside O of the assist grip 11 to be fixed to the body 1.
