PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically correctly determine the transmission order of picture data of individual pages even in the case of a single face read mechanism. SOLUTION: The large and small relation of the numbers of pages (a) and b which have been read in the first half and the latter of read is discriminated, and the transmission order of picture information of individual read pages is determined in accordance with the discrimination result.
