PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device that can reduce a noise in a read signal. SOLUTION: The image pickup device is characterized in that it is provided with pixels each including a photoelectric conversion section that converts an incident light into an electric signal and stores it and including a read means to read the electric signal to a signal line and with a potential control means that increases the potential of the signal line side more than the potential of the photoelectric conversion section when the photoelectric conversion section stores the electric signal.
