In a device (4), for the drying of crockery in a wash chamber (2) of a dishwasher (1), hot, damp wash-chamber air forms, which may be dehumidified by means of condensation outside the wash chamber (2). In order to keep the amount of water required for the condensation small and to keep it ready for a subsequent wash cycle, a heat exchanger (5) is provided outside the wash chamber (2). The heat-exchange surface (6) thereof separates a water conducting chamber (7) and an air circulation chamber (8). The heat-exchange surface (6) is arranged such that condensate drains by gravity into an intermediate reservoir (9), which is separate from the water conducting chamber (7) and connected to the wash chamber (2), by means of a valve (13). |
