PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery powered forklift capable of mounting a large- capacity battery thereon while preventing the increase in the whole height of a body and a required space between wheel bases. SOLUTION: This battery powered forklift comprises first and second battery storage portions 1, 2, the first storage portion 1 being arranged at the upper side of an axle of rear wheels 14 and the second storage portion 2 being arranged at the front side of the axle of the rear wheels 14. An equipment storage portion 6 is arranged between the first and second storage portions 1, 2 and hydraulic and electric equipment is stored in the equipment storage portion 6.
