PURPOSE: Disclosed is a far infrared rays emitting body that provides curing effect to human body by emitting far infrared rays similar to the wave ranges of far infrared rays derived from human beings. CONSTITUTION: The far infrared rays emitting body is produced by (i) heat treating a steel sheet at 800-900deg.C and applying the steel sheet with an aqueous solution where borax and soda ash are mixed in a ratio 1:1; (ii) coating the steel sheet with an adhesive comprising frits, clay and potassium nitride to the depth of 0.1 to 0.15mm, followed by heat treating at 770-810deg.C in a furnace; (iii) coating the steel sheet with a novel material comprising an adhesive, illite and non metallic material to the depth of 0.2-0.3mm, followed by heat treating at 700-710deg.C. The illite is produced by mixing silicon oxide 55wt.%, aluminium oxide 33wt.%, potassium oxide 8.0-9.0wt.%, sodium oxide 1.0-1.5wt.%, magnesium 0.3wt.%; heat treating it at 800-1000deg.C; and crushing it to 325 mesh size.
