PURPOSE: A transflective LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to improve efficiency of light in a reflective mode and a transmission mode and perform a uniform switching function in all fields of a visible ray by changing optical axes of a compensation film and a polarization plate. CONSTITUTION: A backlight(700) performs a function for emitting light. The first transparent substrate(430) is formed on a lower substrate(400). A pixel electrode(440) is formed on the first transparent substrate(430). A protective layer(450) having a transmission portion(470) is formed on the pixel electrode(440). A reflective electrode(460) is formed on the protective layer(450). A lower polarization plate(410) is formed on a lower portion of the first transparent substrate(430). The second transparent substrate(520) is formed on an upper substrate(500). A common electrode(510) is formed in a direction opposite to the reflective electrode(460). A half wave plate(530) and an upper polarization plate(540) are formed in a direction corresponding to the common electrode(510). A liquid crystal layer(600) is formed between the upper substrate(500) and the lower substrate(400).
