Fibres, yarns, woven and knitted fabrics and textiles consisting of natural or synthetic fibrous material is treated with an aqueous solution or suspension containing inorganic peroxidic compounds and an activating agent, which comprises a reaction product of an ester of phosphoric acid with an acylation agent. Bleaching and washing liquors, preferably neutral, weakly acid or weakly alkaline, and containing the peroxidic compounds and activating agents may also contain stabilizers, buffers, wetting agents, detergents, fibre-protecting agents and optical brighteners. The liquors are preferably used at 60 DEG -80 DEG C. and preferably contain 0,1 to 1,0 mol. of activating agent per mol. of active oxygen, calculated at H2O2. In the example, a regenerated cellulose fabric is washed at 60 DEG C. in an aqueous bath of pH 7,5 to 8,0 containing dodecyl sulphate, sodium pyrophosphate, sodium tripolyphosphate, water glass, sodium perborate and diethylmonoacetyl phosphate. |
