[Also in Group XX] In a camera having a device for the control of the diaphragm setting means and of the shutter speed setting means, according to a predetermined schedule, said device comprises a cam for controlling each of said setting means, the two cams being movable together by a common operating member, and means for limiting the path of movement of said common operating member in accordance with the exposure value desired or indicated by an exposure meter. As shown (Fig. 1) diaphragm setting ring 5 and shutter speed setting ring 6 respectively carry arms 14, 15 which are engageable by cams 12, 13 on a slidably mounted common operating sleeve 8 for causing setting rotation of said rings against loading of springs 16, 17. In operation, said sleeve is depressed against loading of a spring 25 by means of manual operating member 22 (Fig. 2) until an exploratory member, which may be integral with or coupled to the member 10, comes into engagement with a pointer of an exposure meter, whereby further movement of sleeve 8 is prevented. The values of diaphragm aperture and shutter speed then set according to said predetermined schedule correspond to the prevailing light conditions. It may be arranged that further movement of member 22-after sleeve 8 has been locked-releases the shutter (not shown). In modifications, member 10 may be coupled to a follow-up pointer of an exposure meter and the cams may be arranged to be rotatable about the objective axis (as described in Specification 925,516).</p> |
