PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape writer and the tape cartridge mountable to the same, on which the tape cartridge sticking an adhesive tape printed the specifica tion information with respect to a printing tap or the tape cartridge itself hous ing it, is mounted so as to write the specification information, and capable of correcting and changing the specification information by itself. SOLUTION: A tape for the printing is stored in the tape cartridge, and, an adhesive tape, which printed one specification information, at least of the tape for the printing and the tape cartridge itself is affixed. It provides with the following devices in the tape writer, those are a tape installation device that attached the above tape cartridge, a reading device of the specifications information of the attached tape cartridge and a print device to print on the tape for the printing of the tape cartridge based on the printing information. This tape has a characteristic that can be used as an adhesive tape after the printing.
