PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver halide photographic sensitive material excellent in shelf stability, giving a high density image with high sensitivity and having rapid and stable performance even under reduced replenishment in development. SOLUTION: In the silver halide photographic sensitive material with at least one photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer and at least one hydrophilic colloidal layer on the base, a hydrazine derivative is not substantially contained, a photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer having a silver to gelatin ratio of >1 is included, the photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer has been spectrally sensitized with at least one sensitizing dye of a specified formula such as formula (I), a development accelerator is contained in the photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer and/or the hydrophilic colloidal layer and the surface pH of the sensitive material on the emulsion layer side is <=6.5.
