PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a flat type display frame capable of preventing a generation of a leak in the flat type display panel and lowering a manufacturing cost for the frame. SOLUTION: Through cutting a plate glass and preparing each two long glass materials 7, 8 ready, these four glass materials are arranged to form a frame. The glass materials arranged in the frame form are heated preliminarily below the softening temperature, then, a connecting portion of the preliminarily heated glass materials is welded through a laser beam 10. The laser beam is emitted through a carbon dioxide laser device 11 and oriented, through a reflection mirror 12, to both surfaces in the thickness direction B of the frame 3 at the connecting portion of the glass materials. Through moving the reflection mirror along the connecting portion, the laser beam is scanned along the connection portion, resulting in heating and welding the connecting portion from both sides in the thickness direction of the frame, and finally connecting all welding parts formed on each side.
