PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power management system for electronic devices equipped with hot swappable components and a redundant and hot swappable power source. SOLUTION: The power management method for an electronic device (100) equipped with at least one connectable component (for example 200) includes calculation of total power requirement value for at least one connectable component. The available power level of power source (106) connected to the electronic device is found. The total power requirement will be compared with the available power level. The power source supplies at least one connectable component with power if the total power requirement is less than the available power level.
