PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner, in which driving force at a louver drive section can be reduced by providing an urging means at an interlocking section of suction louvers for opening/closing suction opening. SOLUTION: An air inlet 2 is provided at an upper part of at least the front face of a body 1, an air outlet 3 is made at a lower part of the front face, and a heat exchanger 4 and an air supply fan 5 are provided in an air passage connecting the air inlet and the air outlet. A suction panel 6, constituting the air inlet, is provided with a plurality of suction louvers 7 disposed vertically, such that a shaft part A at the lower part of the back face is borne turnably to conceal the air inlet under first state and to open the air inlet under second state, an interlocking section comprising a slider 8 for interlocking a plurality of suction louvers, and a louver drive section comprising a cam 9 interlinking with the interlocking section to move it vertically and a drive motor 10. The interlocking section is provided with means, comprising a tension coil spring 11 for urging the interlocking section downward, thus reducing the driving force at the louver drive section.
