PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a scanning optical device capable of a good image output while uniformly maintaining illuminance distribution on a surface to be scanned and to provide an image forming device using the same. SOLUTION: In a scanning optical device having an incident optical means 11 to make incident one or more light flux emitted from a light source means 1 on a deflection means 5, and a scanning optical means having a diffraction part 8 on one or more surfaces to image-form one or more light flux reflected and deflected by a deflection means on the surface to be scanned 7, the grating height of the diffraction part is made different on an axis and outside the axis. |
