PURPOSE: An environment detecting and displaying method while driving is provided to detect the condition conveniently and the blind spot accurately, and to drive safely with an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) screen displaying surroundings. CONSTITUTION: An environmental detecting and displaying system is composed of a camera detecting image on a conical(or polygonal) mirror in the upper part of a vehicle; an image processing unit processing the image signal from the camera and transmitting the signal to an LCD apparatus; and the LCD apparatus displaying the condition around the vehicle. The conical mirror is installed in the upper part of the vehicle, and the camera is placed below the mirror to detect the surroundings by catching the image on the mirror. The image data is transmitted to the image processing unit through the camera. The image processing unit analyzes the input image, and transmits the information to the LCD apparatus. The LCD apparatus shows the environment around the vehicle to a driver. The object on an actual road is displayed with the image on the LCD apparatus by the conical mirror and the camera.
