LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dual use type liquid crystal display device and a method for manufacturing the device in which thickness of a liquid crystal layer is accurately controlled by a granular spacer. SOLUTION: In the dual use type liquid crystal display device in which the pixel region has a reflection region to display in a reflection mode and a transmission region to display in a transmission mode, the thickness of the liquid crystal layer in the pixel region is regulated by a granular spacer. Further, the thickness of the liquid crystal layer in the transmission region is larger than the thickness of the liquid crystal layer in the reflection region. The density of the granular spacer in the sprayed area ranges from 100/mm2+200/ mm2×(area of transmission region/area of pixel region) to 400/mm2+200/ mm2×(area of the transmission region/area of pixel region).
