N-Octylsalicylamide (I) and/or N-decylsalicylamide (II) is used as antimicrobial in laundry detergents, cleaners, rinses, hand washes, washing-up detergents, automatic dishwasher detergents and agents for finishing textiles, furs, paper, skins and leather. Independent claims are also included for: (a) the use of (I) and/or (II) antimicrobial, especially antimycotic, in building materials; (b) laundry detergents; cleaners; rinses; hand washes; washing-up detergents; automatic dishwasher detergents; agents for finishing textiles, furs, paper, skins and leather; and building materials containing (I) and/or (II); (c) textiles, furs, paper, skins and leather finished with the finishing agent. - ACTIVITY : Antimicrobial; antimycotic; fungistatic. - MECHANISM OF ACTION : None given. |
