PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily obtaining sterilized water whose pH and effective chlorine concentration are specific. SOLUTION: Hypochlorite (A) is added to water flowing in a water feed pipe line, and a pH regulating agent (B) is added at the move downstream site, and the flow rate of water, an addition quantity of the hypochlorite (A) and an addition quantity of the pH regulating agent (B) are adjusted in accordance with the pH, a flow rate of water and the effective chlorine concentration, thus the sterilized water with 3-8 pH and 5-5,000 ppm effective chlorine concentration is produced.
