PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a characteristic controller capable of flexibly changing the characteristics of an object to be controlled according to the workmanship or tastes of a user and the use condition of the object to be controlled such as a use environment. SOLUTION: This characteristic controller is provided with a basic control module for deciding a controlled variable for controlling the output of the object to be controlled based on prescribed input information and a control parameter for relating the output of the object corresponding to the input information so that the characteristics of the control parameter can be controlled. This characteristic controller is also provided with a characteristic storing means for storing a plurality of basic control parameters and a characteristic automatic changing means for deciding and automatically changing the control parameter to be applied to the basic control module according to a prescribed condition based on the basic control parameters stored in the storage means and the input information.
