PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll excellent in corrosion resistance and wear resistance, small in damage even in the case sparks are generated and capable of stably performing electric conduction. SOLUTION: The surface of the electric conduction roll base metal is provided with a thermal spray coating of a metallic phase consisting of Ni and Mo. Moreover, the surface of the roll base metal is provided with a thermal spray coating of cermet consisting of a ceramic phase composed of one or more species selected from the borides, nitrides and carbides of one or more kinds of metals selected from W, Cr, Ti, Mo and Ni, and a metallic bonding phase consisting of Ni and Mo. Further, the thermal spray coating contains the above ceramic phase by 10 to 90 mass % and the above metallic bonding phase by 90 to 10 mass %.
