PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance reliability by coping with enlargement of a variable operating speed range which results from the use of an inverter, relating to a closed compressor. SOLUTION: A lubricating passage 25 communicating with a shaft thrust surface 15 from the upper end face of the flange 9 of a crankshaft 7 is provided so that under an operating condition in which an oil film on a thrust bearing 17 is difficult to entrain, as during low-speed rotation, lubricating oil discharged from the sliding parts of a piston and a connecting rod is directly supplied to the thrust bearing 17 from the upper end face through the lubricating passage to increase the amount of lubricating oil supplied to the thrust bearing 17 and enhance a lubrication characteristic during low-speed rotation or the like so as to enhance reliability.
