PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation apparatus which can improve facilitation of checking the position and the ongoing direction of driver's own vehicle. SOLUTION: A map drawing part 14 reads out height information indicating a height sequence between roads, when high level roads exist passing at positions higher than the running road of driver's own vehicle from a data buffer 10. Then, the map drawing part 14 generates drawing data which give an overhead view of the underside (rear side) of high level roads from a prescribed point of sight for the high level roads positioned higher than the running road of the driver's own vehicle on one hand, and giving downward view from the prescribed point of sight as for map images of the running road of the driver's own vehicle and surrounding areas and combines the separate drawing data into one. A map image obtained based on the drawing data is shown on the screen of a display device 7. |
