<p>According to the present invention, there is disclosed a tap (2) comprising a first portion (4) and a second portion (14), the first portion comprising a port for attachment to a container (30), the port having an inlet (19), the second portion including means (18) for sliding engagement with the first portion and cutting means (24) for cutting into said container, and in which a portion includes a valve (16); whereby the second portion is capable of linear sliding movement relative to the first portion and there is a path of fluid communication from the inlet of the first portion to the valve.
