<p>A cooling device which prevents the lowering of the function of cooling carbon bricks in the bottom wall of a blast furnace, thereby suppressing brick corrosion due to molten pig iron and prolonging the blast furnace life, wherein a cooler made of metal is bonded to the carbon bricks by an adhesive composed of carbon powder, synthetic resin and a hardening agent, forming an adhesive layer between the cooler and the carbon bricks which contains, based on mass percentage, 50% or more, preferably 50-85% solid carbon. A cooling device wherein one side of an anchor bolt is embedded in the carbon bricks and the other side extends through the cooler, with a nut threadedly engaged thereon with a spring-function washer placed between the cooler and the nut, the nut being threadedly engaged, thereby clamping the cooler to the carbon bricks. These cooling devices, as compared with conventional stave coolers, are low in installation cost and can be attached to any desired location depending on the conditions of bricks.</p> |
