PURPOSE: A packing box is provided to enhance the compressive strength of a box and to reduce the content of the shock absorbing member filled in the box by forming plural subsidiary flaps. CONSTITUTION: In a packing box(300), subsidiary flap pieces(302a) for resisting against the vertical load are formed at the edge of a pair of flaps(302m) among plural flaps(302m,302n). The subsidiary flap pieces are bent to the edge of the flap. For packing a product(303), the product is placed in the box and a shock absorbing material(304) is filled around the product. Thereafter, the inner flap(302m) is covered by bending. Then, the subsidiary flap pieces are bent and the sides of the subsidiary flap pieces are adhered to the stepped portion of the shock absorbing material. The lower portion of the subsidiary flap piece contacts to the stepped upper face of the shock absorbing material. Thus, the subsidiary flap pieces support the inner flap and a force against the vertical load is generated and the compressive strength of the box is increased. Packing is completed by folding the outer flap(302n) and sealing.
