PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a feedforward amplifier with low distortion and a wide dynamic range. SOLUTION: The feedforward amplifier is provided with a main amplifier 4 that amplifies an input signal, a phase compensator 9 that has the same phase fluctuation characteristic as a phase fluctuation depending on the frequency characteristic of the main amplifier 4 and depending on its output level and receives the input signal to produce the same phase fluctuation as that of an output signal from the main amplifier 4, a 1st power synthesizer 10 that synthesizes the output signal of the main amplifier 4 with an output signal of the phase compensator 9 to provide an output of only a distortion component generated in the main amplifier 4, an error amplifier 13 that amplifies the distortion component being an output of the power synthesizer 10, and a 2nd power synthesizer 7 that synthesizes the output signal of the main amplifier 4 with an output signal of the error amplifier 13 to cancel the distortion component generated in the main amplifier 4.
