<p>A device for applying ultraviolet-cured coating on an optical fiber while properly controlling the ultraviolet radiation output from a light source. A device comprises a light source (2) for irradiating resin with ultraviolet radiation, the resin molded on a stripped part (4) of an optical fiber cable core (3); a photodetector (5) for receiving the ultraviolet radiation through the resin from the light source (2) and detecting the intensity of the ultraviolet radiation; and an environment sensor (20) for detecting environmental information. The environment sensor (20) includes at least a temperature sensor (6), and optionally a temperature sensor (7) and a barometric sensor (8). An optical output control device (1) carries out feedback control of the optical output from the light source (2) based on the environment information detected by the environment sensor (20), the ultraviolet radiation intensity detected by the photodetector 5, and the control data for controlling the optical output from the light source (2) depending on the ultraviolet radiation intensity and environment information.</p> |
