PURPOSE: A method is provided to get a sludge cake having low water content without pH adjustment of the raw water and to meet the criteria of the phosphorus of the discharged water of large amount precipitation. CONSTITUTION: In a water purification system including a screen, a grit chamber, an aerobic basin, a flash mixing tank, a flocculation tank, a polymer feeding tank and a settling tank, the system is characterized in that a zeolite-based coagulant is fed into the flash mixing tank and alum serving as inorganic coagulant is fed into the flocculation tank.
